The Isle of Man Platinum Noble became the world’s first platinum investment coin in 1983. Production of the Noble has since been discontinued. The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the year of issue, her name, and the words “ISLE OF MAN”. The reverse depicts a Viking long ship. The private Pobjoy Mint of England produced Isle of Man Nobles. These 99.95 % pure coins are not legal tender of any nation.
