Fortuna was personified as the goddess of luck, happy fate, and good fortune.
In this statue the goddess is holding a rudder in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left.
The rudder signified that she guides the destiny of the world; the cornucopia,
that she was the provider of abundance. She was known as Tyche to the Greeks
and was worshipped extensively throughout the Roman Empire.
