Chavin Culture.

The Chavin De Huantar people- called Chavin- of North Central Peru were the first of many andes cultures and were a ferocious and brutal people. The Chavin began in 1200 B.C. and were the dominant culture of Northern Peru, reaching their peak about 400 B.C. they spread their religious influence throughout the region and continued up to 1200 A.D.
